PEG Grant
A healthy lifestyle is vital for a child’s well-being and keeping fit is an important part of this. Within the curriculum, children participate in a range of games and activities to develop their skills and techniques in: football, cricket, rounders, tag-rugby, athletics, cross-country, tri-golf, multi-skills and outdoor adventurous activities (OAA).
Inside, we teach gymnastics, modern and traditional dance, Unihoc and Sportshall Athletics. Children learn the importance of warming up, in preparation for, and cooling down after, exercise. Children will (in Key Stage 2) go swimming and are either taught to swim, or their swimming is further developed.
As well as enjoying a wide range of activities at school, we actively participate in many of the local inter-school sports competitions and tournaments and, to the school’s credit, we have enjoyed much success in recent years.
We use our School Sports Premium to improve the quality of PE provision at Robert Kett and enable children to participate in a variety of tournaments and sporting events.
