Design and Technology Statement:

Design Technology at Robert Kett Primary school aims to ensure that all pupils develop the creative, technical and practical expertise to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world. Pupils will use creative and imaginative ways to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems with a range of contexts. They will be able to evaluate past and present designs to help them to develop their own ideas and designs. Pupils will acquire and apply knowledge, understanding and skills in order to be able to design and make prototypes and products for a wide range of purposes. They will learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Pupils will be able to critique, evaluate and test their ideas and be able to use these to create a high-quality product that meets the design criteria. They will also be able to understand and apply the principles of nutrition and learn how to prepare food and cook.
